TI provides one-stop service for all streaming audio needs

TI system solutions provide a one-stop shop for streaming audio applications, helping customers reduce time-to-market and reduce production costs and risks:

· Built on the SitaraTM AM335x processor, this ARM® Cortex®-A8-based scalable solution provides extensive market support. With 300 MHz to 1 GHz performance, the TI AM335x processor supports multiple streaming protocols on a single chip, including AirPlay, DLNA, and proprietary audio post-processing protocols. In addition, it can also be used as an application host processor. This can help OEMs reduce the number of chips and reduce costs while increasing functionality;

· TI's WiLinkTM 8 combo connectivity solution is integrated into this streaming audio solution to deliver high-performance Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth®/Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity with industry-leading coexistence :

o 2x2 MIMO and Maximum Ratio Integration (MRC) receivers for superior Wi-Fi performance and greater signal coverage;

o Wi-Fi direct connection and multi-purpose functions enable simultaneous connection to peer-to-peer streaming media over the network and on different channels;

o Dual mode Bluetooth and BLE protocol stacks compliant with the Bluetooth Technology Alliance standard support a wide range of profiles;

· AureusTM high-performance audio DSPs can be integrated into high-end streaming media devices that require Dolby Digital and DTS decoding algorithm support and add custom audio post-processing capabilities;

· Customers can integrate the TI AIC3206 audio codec for audio output with the TPS650250 power management IC to minimize overall system power consumption;

· The solution is compatible with the TI Sitara Linux Software Development Kit (SDK) for easy programming, which will then include the AirPlay plug-in introduced in the first half of 2014.

TI solutions support rich streaming services

TI's comprehensive streaming audio solution helps consumers connect their portable and home connected devices that support AirPlay to the DLNA standard. TI's first multi-functional system solution supports AirPlay, which delivers streaming audio content from iOS devices to remote speakers or TV. In addition, DLNA support enables streaming between devices that support the Android, Windows, and OS X operating systems. Common Internet radio broadcasting services are also supported.
