The Lighting Society held a working meeting for the re-election of its affiliates at Beijing Normal University. The main topics of the meeting were “summary of exchanges of work experience in 2007†and “doing a good job in the reorganization of affiliated branchesâ€. A total of 30 representatives from 18 branches attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Xu Huai, executive vice president and secretary general.
First of all, Comrade Xu Huai informed the participants of the main work of the Institute since the re-election. Then, representatives from various branches spoke in succession and introduced the work situation and experience in recent years. The atmosphere of the venue was very enthusiastic. Through exchanges, various branches have improved understanding and exchanged experiences, which has created favorable conditions for strengthening cooperation and common development in the future.
In order to closely learn the relationship with the CIE organization, the conference announced the list of representatives of the China Lighting Society in the CIE divisions determined by the China Lighting Society's first meeting of the President's Office in 2008:

The meeting focused on matters related to the re-election of branches. The meeting emphasized that branches are an integral part of the society and an important force for learning to carry out various tasks. Doing a good job in the re-election of branches is not only the requirements of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the China Association for Science and Technology, but also the reality of learning to strengthen their own construction and to run the home of lighting technology workers. The meeting asked all branches to start preparations from now on, and strive to complete the change by the end of June.
The delegates at the meeting made a serious discussion on the change of the work. They agreed that the change of branches is the top priority of the current work, and that it is necessary to hurry and complete on time. Participants made good suggestions on the composition conditions and principles of the branch personnel.
The meeting finally formed the following comments:
1. Agree to determine the person in charge of the change of each branch and the contact person of the Society Secretariat;
2. From now until the end of March, make preparations before the re-election, including the composition of the main responsible persons, the principle of personnel composition, the methods of production, and the arrangement of activities.
3. Hold a general meeting, complete the change of work and determine the main points of work in 2008;
4. Submit the re-election and relevant filing materials to the Institute in a timely manner.
Finally, Chairman Wang Jinxi fully affirmed the work of various branches in the past four years, and asked all branches to continue to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, in accordance with the "Seventh National Congress" of the China Association for Science and Technology and the National Society Work Conference. Establish a scientific development concept, adhere to the people-oriented, innovation-oriented, energy-saving emission reduction, and create harmony as the theme, continue to strengthen their own construction, and make new contributions to the great practice of building socialism with Chinese characteristics.
