Silicon Labs Reduces Cost and Complexity of Coherent Optical Market Timing Technology

China, Beijing - April 26, 2016 - Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB) has introduced a series of jitter-attenuating clocks that simplify the 100G/400G Coherent OpTIcal Line Card and module design. Provides high frequency, flexible clocking solutions that significantly reduce system cost and complexity. Silicon Labs' new Si534xH coherent optical clocks provide low jitter reference timing for data converters, replacing discrete timing solutions that rely on expensive, large package size voltage controlled SAW oscillators (VCSOs). Unlike VCSOs that support only a single fixed frequency, the new Si534xH clock offers a wide frequency range, supports frequencies up to 2.7 GHz, and requires no changes to bill of materials (BOM) components.

The Si5344H and Si5342H clocks offer the best frequency flexibility and unmatched 50fs RMS jitter performance. These clock chips simplify the device procurement process and replace multiple VCSOs with long lead times that can be customized with a single clock IC solution with delivery times as short as two weeks.
