Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) and Nichicon Corporation (TSE: 6996) announced today that they have signed a wireless vehicle wireless charging (WEVC) license agreement. Nichicon will include Qualcomm Halo® WEVC technology in its portfolio and will focus on supporting plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) manufacturers and pure electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers in Asia to commercialize WEVC systems. Based on this agreement, Nichicon plans to develop, manufacture and supply WEVC systems based on Qualcomm Halo technology.
