ApTIna launches camera image sensor MT9F001 that supports Full HD video

ApTIna, represented by Fuwei Group, a subsidiary of the General Assembly, introduced the MT9F001 (14 million pixel) camera image sensor. The sensor's high-resolution, high-speed snapshot and high-quality video modes. The new 14-megapixel camera sensor can capture high-definition Full HD video (1080p / 60fps), and also realizes the high-value end-user features that some manufacturers need when developing high-performance design solutions, such as electronic anti-shake ( EIS) support.

In the optical aspect, when the traditional frontal illumination (FSI) method was used in the past, the smaller pixels would cause the photons of the light-emitting diodes to not be collected effectively. ApTIna A-Pix technology overcomes this long-term problem of insufficient light sensitivity. At present, the (BSI) method is used to improve the optical rotation, and there is less crosstalk, so the noise is lower and the color reproduction effect is more saturated. From the comprehensive consideration of key performance parameters such as optical rotation, crosstalk, number of hot pixels, and manufacturability, ApTIna's MT9F001 technology solution is very suitable for high-performance consumer digital camera products.

Aptina introduces the most advanced 1.4-micron pixel size architecture and uses HiSPi (high-speed serial pixel interface) to achieve the fusion of still image quality and video performance, which has become a feature different from CCD technology.

MT9F001 will be put into mass production in the first quarter of 2010.
