Xiaomi Technology launches Android 4.0 MIUI at the end of November

Xiaomi Technology Development Group announced the progress of the Android 4.0 version of the MIUI system at the official forum a few days ago and announced that it is expected to launch a beta version three weeks after the Android 4.0 open source, initially scheduled for the end of November 2011 or early December 2011.

Xiaomi official stated that once the source code of Android 4.0 is publicized, the five core functions of MIUI system will be rewritten, including contacts, telephone, SMS, launcher and lock screen. At present, the millet development team has already downloaded the SDK, and is re-sweeping the existing code. MIUI based on Android 4.0 will bring new user experience.

At present, Google has made it clear that it will open source code for Android 4.0. Software engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru said shortly after the Hong Kong conference: "AOSP will release the source code again, which means Android 4.0. Will be based on AOSP open source code."

Millet's mobile phone began shipping on October 20, carrying a customized MIUI system that allows users to swipe back to the native Android system.
