Mitsubishi Electric Introduces High Power Monocrystalline Lead-Free Solder Solar Cells

Japan's Mitsubishi Electric Corporation will launch a series of single-crystal lead-free soldering solar module modules with output power up to 210W on October 28. Since the output power of the module is increased, even if it is installed on a narrow roof of a city house or the like, a higher power generation amount can be achieved. Available in 4 shapes, depending on the shape of the roof. The product will be introduced as a system that can make full use of the limited roof space.

By launching a series of solar battery modules with an output power of up to 210W, a single crystal product of 200W, and a polycrystalline product of 190W, Mitsubishi Electric's product lineup of solar battery modules will be expanded to three series. If the 210W series is used, setting capacity will increase by 11% compared to the 190W series when the roof installation area is the same. In the case of the same size and number of modules used, if the total set capacity of the 190W series is 3420W, then the 200W series can reach 3600W, while the 210W series can reach 3780W.

The 210W series refines the collector electrode, which is called the gate electrode, on the light-receiving surface of the solar cell, making it 20% thinner than the original product, increasing the light-receiving area and improving the output performance. At the same time, by using low-reflective glass on the surface of the module, the light reflection is reduced by about 3%, and the amount of sunlight injected is increased. In terms of shape, in addition to the rectangular standard modules, square modules with half the output power and trapezoidal modules for the left and right sides are added to handle various roof shapes.

Thanks to subsidies from the Japanese government and local governments and surplus power purchase systems, solar power generation has rapidly become popular. The installed capacity for the fiscal year 2009 was 623 MW, and by 2010 it had increased to 1,063 MW, which was nearly double that of 2009. With the Great East Japan Earthquake as an opportunity, solar power has received great attention as an autonomous power generation device during power outages. Mitsubishi Electric believes that in the cities, the demand for systems that can realize greater power generation in a limited area will be increasingly expanded, thus increasing the module's output power.
