However, due to technical issues, the flexible screen has not been widely used, and Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics Inc.'s efforts to launch mobile phones with shatterproof OLED displays have been hampered. To make flexible displays like traditional glass displays, preventing moisture infiltration is one of the challenges.
The OLED of the Samsung Galaxy smartphone is protected by glass. Ma Hong said: "Oxygen and moisture can be highly penetrated into the plastics currently available in the market." Huanyu is studying plastic-based, but waterproof display technology.
