The reporter learned that large LED advertisements in non-large commercial areas should be extinguished after 10 pm, and large-scale LEDs and projection advertisements should be banned in the eastern eco-tourism shoreline.

The "Guidelines" released this time have clearly defined the lighting of outdoor advertising. Among them, in addition to the main commercial areas, large-scale electronic display (including LED) advertisements in general areas should be extinguished at 10:00 pm to 8:00 the next morning; major commercial and business areas, such as Huaqiangbei Business District and Dongmen Old Street, Nanshan Commercial and Cultural Center District, Shenzhen Central District, etc., from 11:00 pm to 8:00 am the next day, large-scale electronic display advertising should be extinguished.

The Guidelines also distinguishes the surface brightness of outdoor advertising in different urban environments. The surrounding areas of the Observatory, nature reserves, national geological parks, highways crossing ecological lines and urban trunk roads should be unlit areas. Residential areas, hospitals, etc. are low-light areas.

In addition, advertising lighting set within 10 meters of traffic lights and traffic signs shall not use flashing and red, yellow and green colors. Any advertising objects shall not affect the use of residential buildings or urban roads by flashing light sources. Pedestrians and drivers on the streets produce glare. Large LED advertisements close to residential areas and advertisements for building point light sources should be moderately lowered to the surface brightness of advertisements.
