IMPS function

There are many new services supported by the interconnected interoperable 3G system of the instant messaging (IMPS) message system. This article will briefly discuss the interoperability of 3G new services with the interworking of instant messaging messages (IMPS).

The IMPS service is composed of Instant Message (IM) services and Presence services.

Presence business is to enable participating entities (people or applications) to publish and modify their personalized information in real time through the Internet, such as location, mood, connectivity (out dining, meetings), etc. Meanwhile, participating entities can subscribe, authorize, etc. Controls the release scope of presence information. Presence services can notify users of status information through E-mail, SMS, and IM.

The instant messaging service system includes an Instant Message & Presence Service Centre (IMPSC), a user data management system, and an external value-added application system.

IMPSC: Instant Messaging Center consists of instant messaging access point IMPS SAP, instant messaging dispatching center IMPS Server, billing and reporting management system, maintenance monitoring system and network management system, customer service system and user service WEB self-help functions.

IMPS GW: An instant messaging gateway that interworks between an IMPS gateway and an IMPSCC of a remote non-Wireless Village protocol (incorporated into the OMA's IMPS protocol), so that users of different IMPS systems can exchange instant messages.

When the IMPSPC adopts the Wireless Village protocol, it can directly communicate with each other via the IMPSC. For example, if the protocols used between the IMPACS are different, the IMPS gateway can implement interworking.

For example, if each operator follows the OMA specification to set up an IMPS message service center, IMPS message gateways do not need to be set up to enable interoperability of IMPS messages between operators. When interworking with an operator that adopts a non-OMA specification to set up an IMPS system, depending on the structure of the IMPS message system adopted by the operator, the protocol conversion can be performed through the IMPS message gateway to implement the interworking of IMPS messages between operators.

In this scenario, when operator A adopts the OMA standard IMPS system, when interoperating with other operator's standard IMPS systems, it can be directly connected through IMPSC. At this time, the interconnection point is located in operator A's IMPSC and other operator standards. Between IMPS systems. When interoperating with non-standard IMPS systems of other operators, it is necessary to perform protocol conversion by setting the IMPS gateway. At this time, the interconnection point is between the operator's IMPS gateway and other operator non-standard IMPS systems.
