With the rapid growth of the smart home industry, traditional homes are gradually becoming more intelligent. Recently, General Electric (GE) has introduced a new innovation in smart lighting technology with the C-Reach Bridge. This small hub can be plugged into a standard power outlet and connects to the two wires of GE’s Smart Light Bulbs. Once connected, it enables voice control through popular voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, offering users greater convenience and integration within their smart home ecosystems.
The "C-Sleep" series of bulbs is designed to enhance sleep quality by adjusting light color and intensity based on circadian rhythms. These bulbs support various white light settings and can help regulate melatonin levels, making it easier for users to wake up naturally. For example, GE recommends using warm light in the evening to promote relaxation and switching to cooler light in the early morning to simulate sunrise. The C-Sleep bulbs use the A19 base and offer the equivalent brightness of a 60-watt incandescent bulb. Users can easily adjust settings via the dedicated app or manually through the new C-Reach Bridge.
In addition to the C-Sleep line, GE also offers the C-Life bulbs, which provide only white light effects. While they don’t support adjustable color temperature, these bulbs still offer smart control through apps and voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. They also come with a 60-watt equivalent output and an A19 base.
GE is also expanding its smart lighting range with the newly launched Sol lamps. Featuring a unique circular design reminiscent of Dyson fans, the Sol desk lamp integrates seamlessly into modern interiors. It supports Alexa functionality and can work with C-Sleep bulbs without the need for an additional hub. The C-Light series further expands GE’s smart lighting portfolio, offering users more choices in style and functionality.
