The "Fengyun No. 3 D" satellite is the fourth satellite of China's second-generation polar-orbiting meteorological satellite series and the 16th in the Fengyun family. It was launched on November 15, 2017, at 2:35 AM by the Long March 4C rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. Alongside it, the "Heide 1" test satellite was also deployed. This mission marks a significant step forward in improving mid- to long-term weather forecasting, particularly in identifying the auroral boundary.
Equipped with an advanced infrared hyperspectral atmospheric vertical detector, this satellite uses cutting-edge Fourier interference technology, significantly enhancing the accuracy of atmospheric temperature and humidity profile inversion. This improvement supports more reliable medium- and long-term numerical weather prediction, extending forecast accuracy by up to two to three days.
As part of China's second-generation polar-orbiting satellite system, Fengyun No. 3 D offers global, all-weather, multi-spectral, three-dimensional, and quantitative remote sensing capabilities. After successful on-orbit testing, it will become a key operational satellite for low-orbit observation in China. When combined with Fengyun No. 3 C, launched in 2013, it enhances the precision of atmospheric detection and improves monitoring of greenhouse gases, space environment, and meteorological conditions. This advancement strengthens China’s role in ecological protection, disaster prevention, and international cooperation, especially under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Currently, Fengyun No. 3 D is the largest satellite in terms of measurement channels in China, featuring nearly 7,000 channels. According to Zhang Peng, Deputy Director of the National Satellite Meteorological Center, this upgrade greatly enhances the detection of low-level atmospheric dynamics, thermal parameters, greenhouse gases, and high-level electric, magnetic, and high-energy particles. It boosts China’s global numerical weather prediction, climate change response, environmental monitoring, and space weather forecasting capabilities.
In an interview, Zhang Peng emphasized that Fengyun No. 3 D replaces the Fengyun No. 3 B satellite launched in 2010 and provides comprehensive global observations in the afternoon orbit. It ensures China's low-orbit satellite observation capability, builds upon previous systems, and improves their performance. The satellite will play a vital role in future weather forecasting and global disaster prevention efforts.
China has launched 15 Fengyun satellites, with 8 currently in orbit, 7 of which are operational. These satellites provide critical Earth observation data for meteorology, marine, agriculture, forestry, aviation, and military applications. Fengyun satellites have gained international recognition and are integrated into the global Earth observation network managed by the World Meteorological Organization. They enhance both domestic and international weather forecasting accuracy and timeliness.
Additionally, Fengyun satellites support China's role in the International Disaster Reduction Charter, contributing to global disaster mitigation. According to the China Meteorological Administration, over 77 countries and regions, including 37 along the Belt and Road, use Fengyun data. This widespread usage highlights China’s growing influence in global meteorological services and its contributions to international climate and environmental initiatives.
Friction Disc
The Friction Disc is a kind of Printer Accessories.
The cartridge is irradiated by laser beam to adsorb toner, and then the toner is hot pressed by fixing roller for printing. In this process, there will be part of toner residual, which can not be "granules returned to the warehouse"; Automatic cleaning function is not adsorbed new toner particles and directly print, will remain toner away, fully ensure the next printing effect. And the Plate-Grid plays an important role. When high voltage generator to a high voltage electrode, wire electrode with reseau formed between a strong electric field, and release the corona, wire electrode and the photosensitive drum ionizes the air between the air ions migrate to the drum surface, make the photoconductor (drum) surface is full of charge, so can spare toner "adsorption to warehouse", so as to save toner, The purpose of reducing environmental pollution.
