NXP Semiconductors NV recently announced that the cable dual-channel silicon tuner solution TDA18260 has entered mass production and will be available immediately. The TDA18260 simplifies the design of high-definition dual-line cable set-top boxes, each supporting up to six channels of programming. NXP's dual-channel cable TV tuner eliminates interference between tuners and eliminates complex and expensive RF components such as low noise amplifiers, crossovers, SAW filters, and an ever-increasing number of crystals.
