Hong Kong Institute of Applied Science and Technology (ASTO) partnered with Oasi Electronics Co., Ltd., an integrated circuit solution provider based in Shenzhen, which has successfully developed an advanced multimedia audio codec system-on-chip (OPT5256). ), can support different music system code and audio effects post processing. This system-on-a-chip combines Siltera's craftsmanship to reduce 0.18 micron to 0.16 micron CMOS. Silterra is Malaysia's leading mixed-signal wafer fabrication facility. The OPT5256 is a highly integrated system-on-a-chip solution that supports multiple music system codecs, including MP3, WMA and AAC, which can also decode JPEG files for photo display. The most prominent feature of the OPT5256 is its ability to convert CDs directly into MP3s and compress them for SD card or USB flash storage. In addition to the USB interface and SD interface, the OPT5256 combines most of the peripherals on a single chip, such as memory, liquid crystal display control, and many I/O devices. With the reduction of many external components and the shrinking chip size, manufacturers can use this feature to design products that are lightweight and inexpensive. OPT5256 is also Hi-Fi compatible. It combines ASTRI's audio post-processing IP, enhanced stereo and bass, and a five-band graphic equalizer, which is extremely important for improving sound quality.

The audio codec system with audio post-processing has been successfully tested with all CMOS 0.16 silicon test chips, including USB 1.1 and 2.0 interface tests. Ou Si Electronics has entered the completion stage of application software writing and system board production, providing reference designs and preparing for mass production at Silterra.
