Apple iPad products latest forecast iPad mini or disappear

KGI Securities analyst Guo Mingchi, who has a reputation for Apple products "predicting the gods", released a new report. In his report, he revealed the latest forecast for the future Apple iPad product line. Guo Mingchi believes that in 2017 Apple will launch three new iPads, ranging in size from 9.7 inches to 12.9 inches.

Guo Mingchi said that next year Apple will add a 10.5-inch iPad Pro to the product line, as well as a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and a "cheap" 9.7-inch iPad. He did not put forward his own views on the future direction of the 7.9-inch iPad mini. Many people thought that with the popularity of the 5.5-inch iPhone, the demand for small tablets is decreasing, and this size of iPad will be eliminated by Apple.

Although Apple may launch three iPads in 2017 (12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, 10.5-inch iPad Pro and low-priced version 9.7-inch iPad), this may not reverse the structural decline in the tablet market. In the 2017 fiscal year, Apple iPad shipments fell 10-20% year-on-year. If Apple introduced a larger iPad of 10.5 inches, it could bring more business and education markets to the company. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and 10.5-inch iPad Pro are expected to be powered by A10X processors, which will be produced using TSMC's 10nm process technology. The low-priced version of the 9.7-inch iPad will be powered by the A9X processor, and the processor will also supply TSMC.

In addition, Guo Mingchi also expects the "fastest" change of the Apple iPad product line will be "revolutionary" in 2018, when the company will use a more "aggressive" design on the iPad, and will switch to a flexible AMOLED screen.

iPad

Guo Mingchi said: "The revolutionary iPad model is expected to officially join Apple's product line in FY 2018. This product will have a more radical design style. We believe that the iPad will keep pace with the iPhone, the fastest in FY 2018. Equipped with a flexible AMOLED display panel. If the iPad is equipped with such a panel, it will be possible to generate more selling points through new designs and innovative user usage, which will help increase shipments."

Since Apple lacked tablet innovation products before the end of this year, Guo Mingchi lowered its 2016 iPad shipments from 45 million to 5,000 to 35 million to 40 million. Although Apple is expected to launch new products in 2017, due to the overall market downturn, Guo Mingchi expects Apple iPad shipments to decline further next year.
