The Xiamen Municipal Government has taken LED night lighting construction as an important means to support the local LED industry and enhance the investment in the optoelectronic industry, and achieved good results.
First, the basic overview of the construction of night scenes
The construction of the first LED nightscape project in Xiamen began in September 2005 and was illuminated before the Spring Festival in 2006. The second LED nightscape project was launched in March 2006 and lighted in early September. The third phase of LED nightscape construction is currently underway and is expected to be lit before the Spring Festival in 2007.
The construction scope of Xiamen LED nightscape project mainly includes important urban landscape areas, business center areas, prosperous commercial districts and important public buildings on both sides of main traffic trunk roads. After two phases of construction, the LED nightscape project has been distributed in five administrative districts of Xiamen, with more than 400 high-rise buildings, landscape zones, and bustling commercial street districts. From the point to the line, from the line to the surface, the line will form a certain piece. The momentum and atmosphere. Six major LED night scenes have been formed: Zhongshan Road - "Hundred Years Old Street Ambilight"; Gulangyu - "Tianfeng Haitao Warm Home"; Jiahe Road---"Xinxin Xiangrong Egret Soars"; member of the lakeside---" Hua Deng, Xianshan Qiongge"; Jimei School Village - "Lighting the Moonlight Campus Moonlight". Haishu's future coast - "The glory is not over the night and the development of new Xiamen." The dazzling Xiamen night has become a brand new city card, which has been well received by domestic and foreign guests.
Letting the city's nightscape construction and economic construction promote each other and fly together is the original intention of Xiamen's large-scale LED nightscape construction. After more than a year, it basically achieved the intended purpose. The city's night is even more beautiful. Xiamen's LED products have also entered the nightscape construction of large and medium-sized cities including the Beijing Olympic venues and other provinces. The LED nightscape construction has also greatly promoted the leap-forward development of Xiamen's optoelectronic industry, attracting Taiwanese optoelectronic enterprises to settle in Xiamen. Nearly 10 large-scale Taiwan-funded optoelectronic enterprises have been introduced, with a total investment of more than 500 million US dollars. Taiwan's AUO, Huaying and Dongyuan have settled in Xiamen. Xiamen seized the opportunity and the connection with Taiwan's optoelectronic industry is developing towards the development of a research and development production base in the optoelectronic industry across the Taiwan Straits. Xiamen's “National Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Industrialization Base†has now developed into a large base structure with Xiamen as the core and radiating Fuzhou, Zhangzhou and Quanzhou, and has more than 80 LED production enterprises and 32 large-scale enterprises.
One of the typical nightscape projects
Zhongli Building is located on Hubin North Road. The city government's 40-storey high-rise building with a building area of ​​70,000 square meters is rectangular and belongs to one of the members' landscape. Zhonghao Building was ranked first in the 2006 Top Ten Nightscape Project.
The total investment of LED night scene project of Zhonghao Building is 2.1 million yuan, including 1.4 million yuan of lamps. Compared with the floodlight project, the lighting cost is similar, saving 48.5% and daily maintenance costs saving 60%.

Jinyan Hotel is located on the shore of the member of the Lake in the south of Hubin South Road. The back is facing the lake and has a wide view. It is adjacent to Bailuzhou Park and is the main scenic spot in the city. It extends north to the General Assembly Hall and the city government has a 2km view. The main roads of Hubin North Road and Bailuzhou Road are clearly visible. The hotel building is 100 meters high. The roof top is made up of high-brightness LED pixel tubes. It is 8 meters high, 32 meters long, and the display area is 256 square meters. RGB three-color pixels With 256-level grayscale control, the main display of Xiamen Airlines, dynamic display of images, text, advertising and so on. The 28-story façade of the main body wall is vertically installed with a digital pixel tube to form a large-screen wall, which can display color images dynamically, with vivid colors, and can be used for public welfare and public information dissemination. The total investment is 2.7 million yuan, compared with neon lights. 70% power saving, LED life is more than 5 times longer than neon lights, greatly saving maintenance costs, leasing part of the LED screen for advertising, and recycling costs in 2 years.
