Speaker: Howard Wolfman, founder and chairman of Lumispec Consulting
After 20 years of lighting experience in Motorola Lighting and Osram's Electronic Controls, Howard Wolfman founded Lumispec Consulting in 2008, specializing in energy-efficient lighting. He is currently a consultant to many clients in North America, Asia and Europe, including DOE-PNNL Labs and the EPA ENERGY STAR Program.
In addition, Howard serves as the director and treasurer in the fourth district of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). He has served on the boards of four IEEE professional chapters (EMC, IAS, EMS, SSIT) and is the chairman or member of more than 18 IEEE committees. Howard is currently a member of the SSIT chapter, the IEEE Visual Assessment Committee, a treasurer and a member of the IEEE Standards Board of Directors.
Howard is Chairman of the IES Control Protocol Committee and Vice Chairman of the Energy Management Committee of the IES (Illumination Engineering Society). He has served on the UL Standards Technical Group, CSA's Lighting Safety and Performance Technical Committee, and many NEMA (American Electrical Manufacturers Association) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) lighting divisions. He used to be the chairman of the National Committee of the International Electrotechnical Commission.
He has received honors including the IEEE Centennial Medal, the IEEE Millennium Medal, the NEMA Kite and Key Award, the CSA Meritorious Award, the Edison Report Lifetime Achievement Award and the Eagle Scout.
