Littelfuse offers the highest level of transient surge protection for the lighting market

Recently, Littelfuse, a global leader in circuit protection, has introduced a new series of LED lightning surge protection modules with more transient overvoltage protection for outdoor and commercial LED lighting. The LSP10 GIHP Series Surge Protector (SPD) module is the only serial SPD module on the market that combines low pass-through surge (limited voltage or MLV) and low clamp voltage levels with a built-in LED indicator. It can remind maintenance personnel when it needs to be replaced. The low MLV rating helps prevent malfunctions caused by surges in the LED driver of the luminaire and extends its working life.

The series features Littelfuse thermal protection varistors and is available in different operating voltages (277V or 480V). The 277V product can be safely used in 120V and 240V systems. The 480V product can be safely used in 347V systems and some 277V systems. The built-in thermal disconnect function prevents catastrophic failures and fire hazards even when the varistor is terminated or continuously overvoltaged.

Applications include road lighting, parking lot lighting, wall washing, traffic lighting, floodlighting, digital signage, tunnel lighting and street lighting.
