On April 16, Mitsubishi Electric Corp. announced that it will set up a new lighting-related company on October 1 this year, and its three lighting-related subsidiaries will be integrated and merged into the new company.
Mitsubishi Electric pointed out that the three subsidiaries to be integrated are Mitsubishi Electric Lighting (100% owned by Mitsubishi Electric), which is responsible for the manufacture and sales of light bulbs/fluorescent lamps, and OSRAM-MELCO, which is jointly established with Osram.
