LED TV share is growing at an alarming rate

According to statistics, local brands LED TV once accounted for nearly 70% of the domestic market of LED TV. Experts pointed out that LED light source technology is becoming the standard for LCD TVs. The industry generally believes that in the next three years, CCFL backlight TVs (ie ordinary LCD TVs), which have been accounting for more than 90% of sales, will be replaced by LED light source TVs. According to Zhong Yikang statistics, LED TV sales in the domestic color TV market, the week before the May 1st Golden Week, has reached more than 70,000 units, an increase of more than 50 times compared with last year. Among them, local brands account for about 70% of the market share. After entering the month of May, the sales results of the major home appliances stores showed that under the influence of the World Cup boom, the market share of LED TVs further expanded.

Driven by consumer demand, companies have joined the production of LED TVs. TCL and Hisense frequently recruited and actively promoted the construction of LED optical modules. Skyworth and Konka are also actively investing in LED packaging companies to ensure the supply of upstream components. At the same time, other local companies have also entered the LED field, expanding production capacity by large-scale production, and the price of LED TV has been continuously lowered. Some institutions predict that LED TV will become the absolute mainstream of the color TV market next year. "In the context of explosive growth, it also highlights the drawbacks of the high homogenization of the LED TV industry." The relevant person in charge of TCL pointed out that a single function can no longer meet the diversified needs of consumers. "Only the market segment can guarantee that it will not be left behind. "On the one hand, LED TV market sales have increased significantly, but on the other hand, if only LED light source is applied to LCD TVs as a single display technology, LED TVs will also fall into the same situation as CCFL light source flat-panel TVs. The market situation falls into the quagmire of homogenization competition," an industry observer pointed out.
