NexxusLighting announced that the SV Lighting Business Unit has introduced the industry's first LED line voltage floodlights that operate at forward line voltages without the need for internal or external power supplies and can be used for general lighting. This breakthrough created the new SaViSHO white floodlight. Using the new AcricheLED from Seoul Semiconductor, the SaViSHO white floodlight is a new white LED floodlight for indoor and outdoor applications that operates from a standard 120VAC power supply. Although LEDs have always been known for their long life; depending on the color, they have 30,000 to 100,000, they require an internal or external power supply to convert the line voltage down to a low voltage to drive the LED. These power supplies add cost, are shorter than LEDs and have potential systems. The new SaviSHO white floodlight solves this problem by eliminating the need for any power source. Simply connect the 120 volt wire to the color code wire.
The SaviSHO white floodlight will be launched at the 2008 Global Trade Show (GlobalShop) on March 18-20 at McCormick Place in Chicago. GlobalShop is the world's largest annual retail design and store show, attracting more than 15,000 people each year. Buyers and decision makers will participate in global store fairs looking for ways to change the interior or exterior of their stores, including lighting.
