AR glasses designed for riders
Although VR allows cyclists to explore the world in comfortable homes, for those who still love to go out on the adventure, this new AR glasses can play a huge role.
Israeli company Everysight today announced the launch of the new sports product, Raptor Smart Glasses, a new set of glasses designed specifically for cyclists. It reminds us of Google's Glass project, or the upcoming CastAR. During the ride, Raptor displays statistics such as steering navigation, time, distance, speed, heart rate, rhythm, and power in front of the user. These are statistics that you can get through your smartphone apps, but with Raptor glasses, riders don't need to look down at the data and keep their eyes on the road at all times.
The video below shows the user experience and user feedback of riders who use the product. It highlights some of the advantages of the equipment, such as strengthening road safety.
The monitor looks a bit like the information on the car dashboard. Its control is mainly controlled by a voice command or a touchpad on the board through a device mounted on the bicycle handlebar. Raptor also has a front camera that can record every moment of riding a wonderful moment for users to watch afterwards or share with others. It will not be a fitness wear, nor will there be any supporting application upload statistics. Everyglass will release the iOS version and Android version.
Everysight refuses to provide the ultimate battery life for UploadVR, but it does indicate that its purpose is to allow the user to recharge on a 100-mile ride.
Before the consumer version was released, Everysight was preparing a free test pilot program for Raptor. It will run for three months in 2017. Interested players can apply for quotas through the official website. Access will also provide you with an online place to purchase the final consumer glasses. At present, Everysight has not announced the official release date or price of the product.
