18-bit digital-to-analog converter LTC2757 application circuit

description:

Linear Technology Corporation's 18-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) LTC2757, which provides accurate DC specifications of ±1LSB INL (max) and ±1LSB DNL (max). The LTC2757 has 18-bit accuracy over a ±10V output voltage range, providing a full-scale settling time of 2.1us and low-interference pulses of 1.4nV•s. Fast stability and low interference reduce harmonic distortion, making it possible to produce higher frequency, lower noise output waveforms. This unique combination of DC and AC accuracy will enable higher performance instrumentation, automated test equipment, data acquisition systems and medical device designs.

Choose from six unique output voltage ranges (0V to 5V, 0V to 10V, ±10V, ±5V, ±2.5V, and -2.5V to +7.5V) using software or pin-bonding, eliminating the need for precise gain Level and allow customers to improve production logistics and adjust inventory combinations at any time.

Current mode outputs allow the user to select their own external amplifier to optimize speed, accuracy, noise, power or other parameters and allow the voltage output swing to exceed the DAC's power | regulator rail range. Other 18-bit DACs with internal amplifiers cannot swing beyond the 0V to 5V range and limit the output to near the power rail.

The LTC2757 utilizes a bidirectional parallel input/output interface that allows any internal register readback and DAC output range setting. The voltage-controlled offset and gain adjustment pins allow the user to eliminate system offsets, gain errors, or reference errors.
