Electric car battery and charge and discharge standards will be introduced during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period

Huang Qili, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and honorary chief engineer of Northeast Power Grid Co., Ltd. revealed during the two sessions that the State Grid is currently studying related standards such as electric vehicle charging and battery production, and is expected to be issued during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.

It is reported that in order to develop new energy vehicles, all provinces and cities have planned or piloted the construction of charging stations and charging piles. However, it takes time for the electric car to charge. The quick charge takes 10 minutes and normal charge takes 1 hour. Therefore, the State Grid is studying the scheme of charging and replacing batteries for batteries and related standards, but this first requires the introduction of a unified national standard.

Huang Qili said that for the charging station, the battery of the electric vehicle can be charged in a unified manner, and the charging time can also be flexibly grasped, for example, it can be charged when the national electricity consumption is low. For automotive users, it is only necessary to remove the original battery and recharge it with a fully charged battery. Within 1 minute, you can replace the battery and it will be easier than refueling.

It is reported that which department is responsible for charging and replacing the battery is not yet determined, but it is generally believed that it is more appropriate for the power company to perform unified operations. Huang Qili believes that as soon as the relevant national standards for charging batteries for electric vehicles are introduced, the development of electric vehicles will be very fast.

According to reports, the biggest problem in the promotion of electric vehicles is the issue of battery cost. "At the beginning, the price of the battery may be relatively high, and the average family cannot afford it. However, the government can give some subsidies as appropriate and encourage the purchase of new energy vehicles. The situation will be better," Huang Qili said.
